Disulfiram is a detterent; for alcohol abuse.

Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.

Do not take disulfiram within 12 hours of having had alcohol or any alcohol containing beverage.

A reaction may occur up to 2 weeks after stopping the medication.

Do not suddenly stop taking disulfiram, unless advised by your health care professional to do so.

Consult your health care professional and take as directed.

This tablet is to be swallowed whole with a glass of water. It can also be crushed and mixed with water before taking.

If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.

Dizziness
Tiredness
Headache
Confusion
Irritability
Drowsiness
Disorientation
Skin reaction(s)
Vision changes
Unusual weakness
Yellowing of the skin/eyes
Sexual difficulty (impotence)
Numbness/pain/tingling in the hands/feet

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

Cimetidine
Ramelteon
Propranolol
Fluconazole
Amprenavir
Theophylline

Carbamazepine
Doxercalciferol
Anti Depressants
Medication for sleeping difficulties

Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had :

Diabetes
Blood disease
Under-active thyroid
Seizures (convulsions)
Recent alcohol exposure
Heart/kidney/liver disease(s)
Medicines containing alcohol

Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

Disulfiram is used in the treatment of alcohol dependence. This medicine is not a cure for alcoholism.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

Store at room temperature between 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from heat and moisture.

Do not treat yourself with OTC medication whilst on a course with this medication, without consulting with your health care professional.

Avoid inhaling paint fumes and products that contain organic solvents.

Avoid alcohol based toiletries and perfumes.

If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.

If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.

Do not drink alcohol whilst on a course with this medication and for 2 weeks after you stop taking disulfiram.

Wear an identification bracelet/necklace with your contact information, name of your medication, identification of your condition and the details of your health care professional/person(s), in case of an emergency.
