Everyone gets affected through some nor the other parasites in our daily lives. Many worms do affect the human body very often and hence to treat them, generic Vermox is widely used. Generic Mebendazole i.e. Generic Vermox is a broad-based anthelmintic. And it is widely used in the treatment of various worm diseases like – Hookworm, Threadworm, Pinworm i.e. Enterobiasis, Whipworm i.e. Trichuriasis, Common Roundworm i.e. Ascariasis etc.

The dosage differs for different worm infections. The dosage for treating Roundworm, Hookworm and Whipworm is two tablets for three days, one tablet each in the morning and evening respectively. Moreover, the recommended dose for Threadworm and Pinworm is just a single tablet from children above 2 and also for adults. And if the infection reoccurs, then the treatment may have to be repeated after 3 weeks, depending upon the kind of worm infections.

Moreover, Vermox i.e. Mebendazole 100mg tablets are chewable and hence, they can be swallowed or mixed with cold food and eaten immediately.

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form and also inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

Mebendazole i.e. Vermox may interact with the Phenytoin, Carbamazepine, Ethotoin, Mephenytoin, foods, varied medications etc. However, Cimetidine which is a medicine used to treat ulcers can also interact with Mebendazole. Hence, please obtain more information from your doctor or your physician.

Its important to inform your health care professional, if you are a frequent user of drinks with alcohol or caffeine or if you smoke or if you use any kind of illegal drugs as these things may affect the way your medicine works.

If the suffering patient has collapsed or is not breathing call local emergency services at 911. Canadian residents should call their local poison control center directly.

Do not allow any other person to use your medication without getting doctor’s prescription themselves and also avoid using this medicine for other health conditions on your own. Keep the medicine away from the children and pets.

Please inform your doctor if you had or have diseases like: ulcerative colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, Crohn’s disease etc. as this information can help the doctor in your treatment.

If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. And, if it is almost the time of your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue to your regular dosing. Do not double your doses in any case and consult your doctor for the missed dosage.

Various parasitic infections are treated by generic Vermox i.e. Mebendazole. It is also used to treat worm infections as it can effectively destroy the worms in the body.

Following precautions must be taken during consuming generic Vermox:

1. It is very important for the patient to know that before using Vermox they must inform their health care professional if they have ever had a history of or is currently suffering from any kind of severe or mild diseases like: ulcerative colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s disease, liver disease, kidney disease, diabetes etc.

2. Also acknowledge your doctor if you need to undergo any kind of surgery, including dental surgery or need an x-ray procedure that uses contrast agents. So, inform your doctor immediately about it, so that the doctor can decide whether to continue taking Vermox or stop it during the surgery.

3. Let the doctor also know if you are in-taking or are planning to take any prescribed or non prescribed medicines, health supplements or any OTC medications, vitamins etc.

4. Do not use the Vermox i.e. Mebendazole medication, if you have any kind of allergy to it or to any ingredients of it and tell your doctor or pharmacist about the allergy and get treated.

5. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breast feeding before taking Vermox. Hence, inform your doctor immediately when you plan to conceive, or become pregnant during the course.

6. Do not share the drug with others unless they are prescribed by the doctor themselves. And if your symptoms of side effects do not improve in few weeks or if they become worse and bothersome, check these conditions immediately with your doctor.

7. Please, use the medicine in the prescribed amount and do not overdose it or use it for the longer period of time. Do not discontinue on your own and consult your doctor before doing so to avoid further problems.

8. Hygiene plays an very important role and hence, try to maintain strict standard of hygiene at your best.

9. There is possibility that you may be anemic if you have whipworms or hookworms.

10. Remember, pinworms spread by contact and hence, other people living with you may need treatment. So, please consult with your doctor or your health care professional about the same.
